Program Objectives

Our Fellowship program is an internationally acclaimed program with applicants from around the world. Approximately 100 fellows finished program and are working around the World. Each year 5-8 Fellows are accepted into the Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship Program at TGH.
The objectives of this training program is to provide Fellow with knowledge and experience in delivering high level expert care to the complex cardiac surgical patients in the Cardiac Operating rooms as well as the Cardiac Intensive Care. The other objective is to train Fellow in perioperative TEE to the level of expertise allowing Fellow to pass PTEeXAM and become Bord Eligible in perioperative TEE. (The goals and objectives are based on the recommendations of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA), the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and expert opinion of the staff members of the Department of Anesthesia TGH. )
Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship Program at the TGH is NOT accredited by any of the above mentioned Institutions.
